Your argument assumes an arbitrary factor of significance regarding component swaps. The fact is, above a shelf system (Aiwa etc) all improvements are 'minor' in one way or another. To those who care they're huge. But once you pass a certain level, there's no exponential improvements at all. Just small steps towards your goal. I dramatize improvements when I make them, but really, they're small. It's that way in any hobby- " Hey dude, I just squeezed an extra 3 horses outta my 'vette "
To that person it's significant, to most, it's pretty fast either way.So, the significance of the factors is arbitrary, it becomes a very personal thing, and many find that in a tweaked system, cables are a good way to get their rig doing what it really can.
