Why bother with cables? The answer is simple, this is the Cable Asylum! LOL. Also, without them, hardware is just hardware, it can't make any sound. :)But seriously, it's a two edged sword. Say Joe can't afford that new Hovland pre-amp he wants. But he can take cable costs out of his wife's grocery budget. What's he gonna do? Wait wait wait, or take instant gratification and get cables that at least have the potential for making some improvement now?
The other perspective. Once you've taken your hardware as far as you want to take it for a period of time, it's time to tweak if you don't mind spending a little more. Cables can not only be functional, but be part of your system optimization as well. In theory, you've made that exponential change of equipment already. Your looking for just a little bit more.
