DIY Power Cords: Belden 83802 / 83804

Folks:

I am poised to take the plunge into DIY power cords and have settled on Chris VH's Flavor 1 for most of my needs. However, I am still considering whether to replace the two Synergistic Research Master Coupler A/C cords used on my solid state mono blocks (Pass Labs Aleph 1.2). The Master Couplers are fairly large and I was thinking that perhaps using something larger than the Belden 83802 would be appropriate for the amps. So here's the question: has anyone tried using Belden 83804 cable for a power cord? I imagine that two of the conductors would be used for the hot and the other two for the neutral, with the braid serving as ground.

Does anyone have an opinion on this, and can anyone offer a comparison against the Master Couplers?

Thanks,
Scott
