It's a simple under/over braid (or over/under, either way works). I'll describe under/over. Or at least try. :)
You've got your four leads arranged in front of you, i.e. ||||. From left to right, 1, 2, 3, 4.
Take the number 1 lead under leads 2 and 3, and back over lead number 3. But don't take it all the way back to the number 1 position. Instead, lead number 1 becomes lead number 2 and lead number 2 becomes lead number 1.
Then do the same with lead number for. Take it under leads 2 and 3, and back over lead number 2, but not all the way back to the number 4 position. Instead, lead number 4 becomes lead number 3 and lead number 3 becomes lead number 4.
Now just repeat the process from the beginning.
