A patent officer told me once that they get some 600,000/year (in Canada) and simply dont challenge any patent pendings unless it is brought to there attention. That is why a patent here in Canada is "laid open" for the public to few (about 1 1/2 yr) and then granted if not disputed.
"A patent can not be a natural progression of an idea concocted by a person in the same field with average knowledge of the technology!"
See what happens if Kimber tries to challenge an infringement of "their" patent !Yup. With MSC's Inter-8 Weave having been a commercial product for over 40 years, they haven't a leg to stand on.
