I finished up a pair of Chris's 27 pair Cat5 cables about 10 days ago and connected them between my Carver TFM-15CB and a DIY sub that I built using an Adire Shiva II driver in a sealed box (the 88.5 liter reference design from Adire's web page). I had previously used a pair of regular old Monster Cables, about a 5 foot run.The difference was noticeable immediately in that the volume of the subwoofer increased. After adjusting the gain on the amplifier using white noise and a meter, I let everything run for about 48 hours before any critical listening.
The most immediate difference that I could tell was that the base seemed much "tighter" or controlled. Before, it sounded fine, but with the new cables the sub definitely exhibited a much more well behaved manner.
After about a week of listening, I feel that with the cables, the subwoofer integrates substantially better with the Acoustat 1+1 electrostatic speakers. I'm very happy about that because effectively integrating a dynamic driver, even a subwoofer crossed at 80Hz, with a planar speaker seems about as easy as giving a cat a bath.
The 1+1's currently use Transparent Audio Wave 200 cables and I'm hesitant to replace those simply because the speakers present a pretty difficult load to the amplifiers already. I'm not sure that I want to add more capacitance to an already fairly reactive load.
