Late into the 1990s or very early 2000s, I bought the MIT power cord from Unclestu... I thought, wow... didn't know he carried MIT? But he said he only sold those Z-Cord II powercords and it was on closeout so I bought one of them.Over the years I bought several other power cords and so the MIT cord was put into a parts box with all my other cables.
I accumulated a few too many cables that I thought of selling them to a record group I was in here in Hawaii. I had seen on MIT's website say not to burn in their interconnects/power cords but I burned them in (along with all my other cables i was planning to sell) for at least 4 hours. I also used a metal cleaner and scrubbed off the oxidation from the male end plug of the power cord. At that time last year, I had ended with Pangea power cords from the wall to my Vans Evers power conditioner (that was modded 2x over a 12 year period by Unclestu).
Since I hadn't heard the MIT power cord in like about 15 plus years, I decided to plug it in... wow, sounded so much better than the Pangea cord or other power cords I had over the years... was it because of the burn-in with my Hagerman Frycorder? Because of that, I burned it in for an additional 3 days.
All I can say is that it must be, as I am still using it from the wall to my power conditioner.
Like Unclestu would close out his posts, "YMMV"
