The Jon Risch "romex" power cord seems to use the wires taken from the Romex but not the actual Romex. I would assume that JR liked the way they sounded although once again I would not go that way. While I think it likely that hugely expensive wire like Neotech would have a chance at beating the Apex Jr. 10awg silver plated teflon mil spec wire I and others have used it and liked it and it's $.70 a foot not $28 a foot or $41 a meter or whatever. It is also pretty stiff. Quite some time ago the proprietor at Apex Jr. told me that someone was making $400 power cords out of it.
