Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

Not what I would have expected

Shortly after I put my system together last month I began experimenting with cables, power cables, interconnects both RCA and XLR and speaker cables. I found some Kimber Kable 8tc (original black and blue). Rather than AB it with the other speaker cable I was using I put the 8tc on the left side and kept the original cable on the right side.

Since then the left side seems a bit dull. I left it that way for several weeks and kept observing the left side being a bit dull compared to the right side.

I changed the mids from Magneplanars to B&G RD75's, still the left side was a bit dull. Added brand new Magneplan ribbon tweeters, same thing.

To day I swapped out the 8tc with a cable the same as the right side. Now they sound the same.

The curious part is that the cable that sounds better is cheap, WalMart 12 ga speaker wire.
