Do enough of them and one 'may' hear an improvement.
Certainly was the case with analytical instrument design and fabrication.
OK, no six nines copper wire (would have tried if I knew) but every improvement in noise floor lowering layout, careful observation of tolerances in component selection, whatever, can (but not always) add up to an improvement in resolution and overall performance.
After dozens or more small steps, mostly unmeasurable on an individual bases one can end up with one more digit of resolution.
Even if that last digit has no clinical significance. :-)
