The difference between the old and newer Ant Cables

The main difference between the original A/Cs and the new version is the newer version's are Cryoed and you can get the newer version in double run .. shotgun gun style ... shotgunning or double running each leg each of the conductor reduces the effective gauge from 12 gauge to 9 gauge which lowers the conductors resistance ... a good thing in speaker cable

Cryoing makes little to no sense as both the original and the newer versions are both OCC continuous cast conductors ... in a OCC type conductor there are no boundaries between the crystals to present a resistance to the signal flow ... as the OCC is just one long continuous boundary less crystal with no space between crystals for gases from manufacturing to build up and present a resistance to the flow of the signal also

When a signal travels down a convention conductor it has to jump the distance between the crystalline boundary structures and meets with resistance ... also gases from the manufacturing process accumulate in these voids also causing resistance ...cryoing displaces the accumulated gases from manufacturing and reduces the resistance but in a OCC type conductor there are no crystalline boundaries or accumulated gases from the manufacturing process to dispel

Cryoing OCC continuous cast conductors in any type of cable is ... "Pure Kafka"... and all marketing hype ... there are no gases from manufacturing to present a resistance to flow in the voids between the crystals ... because there are no crystalline boundaries gaps ... it's one long drawn grain crystal

I'm sure you remember in BC (Before Cable) ... ;-) ... silver wire was sonic-ally preferred to copper wire because silver wire had a much longer grain structure with far fewer boundaries gaps for the signal to jump and meet with resistance ... Audioquest was all about this long grain silver structure many years ago

Most don't realize that ACs are premium OCC continuous cast wire as the perception is ... it's cheap magnetic wire

The biggest down side to the AC speaker cables is their poor low quality terminations that degrade their performance and why many audiophiles are not pleased or enamored with these cables ... just cut the ends off .. scrape off some of the insulation and go bare wire
