RE: What RCA-RCA SPDIF Digital Cable To Use?

After building a number of DIY Oyaide FTVS-510 digital cables and DIY digital CATV/modem/router coaxial cables for streaming audio applications with various connectors over the years, I recently bought a factory terminated Oyaide DR-510 digital cable. It was interesting to compare it with a DIY FTVS-510 build terminated with EIZZ EZ-201 rca connectors, which is nearly identical except for the fact that the center pin is silver plated tellurium copper rather than the 4N pure silver center pin of the Oyaide SLSC rca connector. The difference in performance is not unlike the sonic comparison of a KLE Copper Harmony rca connector vs. a KLE Pure Harmony rca connector. There is a discernible difference in the manner the signal is portrayed, with a more refined gestalt and smoothness, with an overall better level of clarity via the Oyaide SLSC rca connector. Not a night and day jaw-dropping difference, but enough betterment to indicate Oyaide made a good decision to implement a pure silver center pin for use with the Oyaide DR-510 pure silver digital cable design. The notion of a pure silver center pin for use with the Oyaide FTVS-510 RG-9 coaxial cable implemented as a DIY digital CATV/modem/router cable for a streaming audio application was also a great improvement from an audiophile POV when I replaced a set of German-made ViaBlue F-connectors with integral center pin with a set of Planet Waves RG-6Q Universal F-connectors that use the 18 AWG solid core silver center conductor of the FTVS-510 cable rather than the center pin of an F-connector. A definite step-up in audiophile performance vs. the premium ViaBlue F-connector.
