Neutrik has available the BXX-14 backshell for the XX series XLR connectors that will allow you to use a 9 mm dia. cable without much difficulty. The Vampire XLRs are also an option if you need a bit more cable entry room. You can file these out so they will take a 10 mm cable.
Most of the commercial stuff that has a large diameter cable into a Neutrik XLR is done by using the old style Neutrik XLR and removing the clamping collet, boot and retainer from the old style backshell so that the cable passes through then filling everything with hot glue, this is how Cardas has done it for years. Tacky technique IMHO
