I was a waffler but am now a believer after an excruciating, soul searching, nauseating search for speaker cables to pair with my new system. I am not in a position to spend $14k on cables but spent a whole lot more than I planned in the beginning. Initially I could not wrap my head around paying much more than $100 to $200 for speaker cable and even then it was a thought process of " maybe the sound will be a bit cleaner, construction will be better etc. I went through DH Labs T14, Audioquest Rocket 44, Morrow SP5, Acoustic Zen Satori and was fortunate enough to work with dealers who guaranteed satisfaction or I was able to buy and turn them to no significant loss.
I finally was loaned a pair of MIT Matrix 28 with the statement from the dealer of "try them for a couple of weeks"' no pressure. I've found THE cables for me within a range I can reach, though not without some pain. I began to think of the cables as another component and when I did, it opened up an entire segment of cables I previously had rejected due to price alone. I'm not suggesting that the Matrix are cables you should buy, but maybe give cables a new look in light of seeing the as a component in your system instead if just wire. It has made a significant difference in my system and how much time I spend listening and truly enjoying the music.
May your waffling be rewarded with a new perspective.
