I'll bet....

....that the cable wasn't Cooked long enough (especially presuming that a dedicated device was used). Teflon dielectrics take the longest. That and the fact that the Cooking process is an up-and-down affair, like a sine wave....hills and valleys. The cable was likely inserted into the system when it was in the "down" part of the cycle. A few more hours would yield a different, and likely better result.

Long experience has taught me that most times, especially in the Cooking process, "more is more". That's why I've always recommended subsequent Cooking-and-listening sessions to determine the optimum number of hours for a given design.
