I got my Cardas Neutral Reference Digital S/PDIF 0.5 meter RCA termination cable and I plugged them into the S/PDIF coaxial jacks on the back of my Resolution Audio Opus 21 Extra Sources box and the CD Player which houses the DAC. I let them burn in for 48 hours by playing a variety of loss less audio files including .FLAC and .WAV files from 16 bits 44.1 kHz up to 24 bits 192 kHz. Previously, I used a Blue Jeans Cable Digital S/PDIF 1.0 meter cable. The Cardas Neutral Reference Digital cable is very nice. It is much more resolving and it extracts more details from all of my music. It makes it easier to listen to fine details, layers of sounds, and the imaging is very precise so it makes it easier to locate where singers and instruments are located within the sound stage. It lets the pace, rhythm, and timing of music flow more naturally and my Resolution Audio Opus 21 music system is well known for its timbre and rhythm accuracy. Unraveling the complex lines of music is much more natural and it keeps my foot tapping along. This Cardas Neutral Reference Digital S/PDIF cable is quite neutral and it does not color the sound whatsoever. It is truly a reference grade S/PDIF cable suitable for high end audio systems like my own. It's much thicker and slightly heavier than the Blue Jeans Cable Digital S/PDIF cable, but it is a superior digital cable in my listening tests thus far. Bass firmed up quite a bit and treble has greater extension and air. The mid range is smooth and uncolored with plenty of resolution and details. I would say that the Cardas Neutral Reference Digital S/PDIF cable is a very intimate sounding cable. It really allows me to get closer to the music with no compromises. I will keep it in my system for many years.
