RE: Bang for the buck pc? Powerlink Plus, Venom?

Bang for the buck power cord hunt should include the Black Sand Cable Violet Z1. John Cook at Black Sand Cable is very good to deal with.
His Violet power cord did extremely well in "Markl" 's "Power Cord Shootout" testing which can be found under the cables section at Head-Fi forum (www.head-fi.org) or at "audio hardware" section of Steve Hoffman Forum.

I had all Violet PCs for my system, but have now gone to a higher level Black Sand Cable product, Silver Ref MkV for my power amps only and I still use Violets on universal player (SACD/DVD-A/CD/DVD-V) and preamps.
Violets excel bringing holographic imaging/soundstage, detail, clarity and a forward energy to music.

I tried running whole component chain on Silver Ref MkV one time, but this was way too "polite" sounding. Going back to Violet on universal player cured that.
The real "battleground" for my system is between Violet and Silver Ref MkV on my Modwright SWL9.0 linestage with the tube rectified power supply.

from Black Sand website (www.blacksandcable.com) :

Violet Z1

Recently developed as a high-value cable, the Violet has been a runaway success. It was designed to give outstanding performance for sources, preamps, and smaller amps.

$299 (up to 1m)
$329 (1m to 2m)
$359 (2m to 3m)
