I would add though that the matching of the male plug to the outlet its plugged into is key, and that the female IEC plug should be matched to the IEC inlet on your gear...in a perfect world. PLUS, both male & female should be the same quality.

That said, i have several of the Furu 11 series Cu + Ag combos. for the $, that combo can't be beat IMO & IME. Spend $60 more and get an Oyaide male plug (or a Furu FI-25 series) and you will be rewarded.

Now, i don't think its a good idea to match an expesive male plug with a $5 female plug...not at all. keep both plugs of the same quality, but they don't necessarily have to match at this stage.

If you are comfortable assmebling your own, its easy to mix & match for difft flavors or results.
