My system is pretty neutral although relatively modest as an entry step to the high end sound. ATC 20A active speakers, EAR 864 preamp, Avondale Audio modded Arcam Alpha 5 CDP, with VdH The Second and MC Gold cables around. It's transparent, fast, dynamic, tonally rich and relatively uncoloured and it should stay as it is in this matter. What seems to be a problem is that obviously there are combinations of different wall plugs and IECs - like you recommended a Furutech Cu plug and an Ag IEC connector. How do you come to this kind of combos? With Oyaide it's even more complicated - how do you choose what connector you put where. I think it would be too much for me to try all the possible combinations of 039, 046 and 079 connectors. If this makes life easier, I need them for the following components:
- 2 MOSFET monoblocks
- 1 valve preamp
- CDPAs I said neutrality is a goal but as the system is on a neutral side already, it is also important that we don't "sleep" it in too much towards clinical. A musicality should be enhanced although I wouldn't love to go towards darker sound.
