Re: Does BFA plug fit tightly into binding post or receiver?

I can recommend the AudioQuest CF-BFA since I use the connector in a second system, and think highly of it.

As mentioned on the ramelectronics.net web page, AudioQuest BFA connectors feature direct gold or silver plating without the use of an intermediate layer of nickel a.k.a. a nickel substrate. A nickel substrate may allow a connector's gold plated finish to shine like jewelry, however it is considered by many folks to degrade performance. As the web page mentions:

"...this means the high quality copper base material is plated directly with gold or silver to prevent the copper from oxidizing, with no intermediate layer of nickel underneath which would otherwise compromise performance."

The AudioQuest CF-BFA is a solderless, crimpless design that features two set screws per connector for termination. A set screw connector such as this is not only very easy to terminate a cable with, it also performs very well and allows the connector to be reusable, which is also a very good thing for DIY cable guys :-)
