I would surmise that your most likely correct BUT I have a pair of MH-750 plus' where both the Positive and Negative bundles have Red solid core wires wrapped in with the each Positive/Negative bundle but only the Positive Red wire is connected to the spade connectors and the Negative Red connector is cut off where the outer shieth ends.

This termination is from the factory and one cannot just assume that all wires are utilized. That is why I suggested the OP send his cables back to CVTL for proper termination.

Yes it seems odd that the Neg. solid wire is not connected and when I sent the cables back to be reterminated, they would have corrected this if it was not to the original design but it is still cut off.

Of course, I can't speak to the MIT 4's termination BUT one should use caution with proprietary cables :-)
