Re: The music cable comany

I've had both their IC's (Yellow labels) and speaker cables at one point. In those days I used to have an all NAD system (C370 and C541i). I prefered them to many other IC's I had tried and a few speaker cables also. To this day I still think they have something special going on in their sound staging capabilities. I know the 3-D effect you are talking about when using these cables. As my components moved up in quality I found the cables were not giving me as much satisfaction as before though. Soundstage width and depth are their strength but detail resolution is not. Also, bass was slow and presented with too much emphasis. I sometimes wonder if the aluminum used in the cables imparts its particular sonic signature.

They are stiff indeed and I was getting tired of always having to unbend and reshape them when I would move my components. I've never had a reliability issue though. The corrugated copper tube will not break unles you bend them too sharply or constantly bend/unbend them at the same place.

I liked them a lot with my old NAD system but when I moved to a more resolving amplifier/source, it became clear to me that all the information on the recordings was not getting through (especially in the highs). If your willing to sacrifice resolution to have an extraordinary soundstage (but not much else IMHO), they are worth a listen.
