I'm planning to build external power unit for my preamp and to rewire headphone cable. In both cases, I'll use XLR as the way of connection.XLR connectors on cable side are not that hard to choose. But chassis mount connector is hard.
I narrowed the cadidates down to Vampire and Furutech. Both offers nickel-free plating, but differ in insulation and pin material.
Vampire chassis mount connector has copper (or copper alloy in female one) but derlin as insulator.
Furutech's has teflon as insulator but bronze as pin
Obiviously, Copper is better than bronze and Derlin is inferior to teflon in dielectric constant.
Cost is no object. Which will be better?
