my quick glance at Belden shows

My quick glance at Belden shows most to NOT be 110 ohm,
the only one at a quick glance that IS 110 ohms is Belden 1800A
which is spec'd as an AES/EBU cable.

I have used 110 ohm cable for audio signal before in a pinch-
I have also used non-110 ohm cable for AES/EBU, but it shows
more errors most likely due to standing waves in the interface
of the wire between transmit and receive.

Of course the differences are minimal- as in video where 75 ohm
coax is king, they used 50 ohm coax for computer network connections
for years (remember when it had to be in 1 meter lengths in order to reduce
standing waves and improve data rate?). But did you know that
until about 10 years ago all BNC's were 75 ohm? That will really dick
up a 50 ohm characteristic network cable. Yes it works, the
center pin will conduct and the shield will conduct. It's just in
the details where the differences lie. A 50 ohm network cable will
squirt video out the other end, even if it works better at 75 ohm.
A coat hanger will make a connection. Just not a good one, and good ones
are where we try and eek out that last 5% of performance in audio.
