You might consider reading the posts on Hagtech's FryKleaner. The FryKleaner is a signal generator -- a small device which creates a corrosive audio signal that, in my experience at least, had a significant effect on "burning in" interconnects and audio equipment. My reaction to the FryKleaner has been very positive.
