I've not modified any of my CRT tube televisions to accept aftermarket power cords, but I've found balun based and isolation transformer based power line conditioners to be very effective towards a better picture (much greater visual improvement than a video cable upgrade, IME). I don't know how a PLC will affect a Plasma or LCD TV's picture, though.A PS Audio UPC-200 (essentially a dual bank PS Audio Ultimate Outlet) balun based PLC serves my main system, while Powervar 4.0 / Model ABC402-11 isolation transformer based PLC's do service in my two secondary systems.
