What Happened?

My system has been sounding just lovely. Warm, but lively. Great pure tones, very little to no grain or grit, great body and such coherence that the full range was blended so well that I no longer sensed separate drivers. A little veiled at the very top, but I didn't care.

Then a few days ago I treated (only) the male end of the CD Player's power cord with Caig ProGold. Nothing else...now its crap. High end is grainy, more extended, but no longer pure and pleasureable. Bass is still great, but the high end is more prominent and dirty than it was. Voices don't have the same body or organic sound.

I'm working on getting it back, tried a few things, but no luck so far.
