Riddle me this, Batman1) CDP----brand a---> Preamp ---- brand a ---> Amp = good
2) CDP----brand b---> Preamp ---- brand a ---> Amp = better
In scenario 1 the interconnect from the source to the preamp is the same model/make as the interconnect from the preamp to the amp and the sound is good. Brand “b†is then introduced (scenario 2) from the source to the preamp, however brand “a†remains in place between the preamp and the amp and there is a noticeable improvement in sound.How can that be? Wouldn’t the sound only be as good as the weak link in the chain, in this case brand “a†interconnect between the preamp and amp. Am I missing something here?
