Re: Two things

Thanks for the feedback.

Capacitance

Well it may be on the high side but I don't think it is rolling the highs as certain attributes of the silver sound (I know, I know) are still in evidence, i.e. the way it make things like triangle jump out with startling clarity. Also I would say it has a tendency to emphasis leading transients and has the slightly threadbare sound of lesser (or just OK) silver cables (for me if it's silver it has to be really good silver).

BTW that tuner has exaggerated sibilance on announcer voice since day one, in fact it needed some considerable burn-in to move it from very annoying to just mildly annoying; funny the problem, regardless of channel, seem to be on the DJ voice, not on the music. Anyway after experimenting with the DIY I put an older Monster M1000 on the tuner... I knew that would cut the sibilance as that old M1000 is a bit mellow if not actually diffuse.

Finally for the phono interface I understand that capacitance is more an issue with MM cartridges whereas I'm using a low-output MC.

Inductance

I may try unwinding the two sides as the ground loop problem was most likely due to the TT ground issue.

Anyway I may try tweaking as per your feedback but I suspect, since the cable seems unlikely to exhibit the tonal capabilities and smoothness of good silver, I'll likely try the 4x33AWG Cardas stuff which requires much less work and which (presumably) has the proper design characteristics; I'm pretty certain it's twisted pairs, then the pairs twisted, teflon tape over, then shield over, rubber cover.

Thanks again.
