I've got my eye on a VH Audio Flavor 3 for my Pioneer DV-47ai. I understand the construction of the cable, the shield is terminated at the source end only... My question is: Is there any reason why a cord terminated for regular three-pole IEC should not be used? Besides having the extra useless conductor, what are the possible sonic consequences?I haven't been able to find any other cords that are specifically made for equipment that uses the two-pole IEC jack. Are there others? I have the Shunyata Venoms on my amp and preamp, and have been pleased with the results. Should I try the VH Flavor 3? Or is the impact of using a three-pole cord so minimal that I should be considering other available cords?
