I really like silver with the tubes in my system. All my cables are DIY, loosely based on ChrisVH's fine silver ICs, with the exception of one of the phono cables - a Kimber TAK-H with Eichmann RCAs.If I was getting store-bought ICs, I'd stick with silver. The Harmonic Technology Pro Silway's have had excellent reviews and are probably less syrupy than the Cardas.
Some others you may want to consider in the US$500 (+/- $100) range include Pear Cable's Anjou (used), Pure Note Paragon, Q Audio's Tao, Solitone Model X, and finally, Jade Audio's Vermeil (gold plated silver).
