But don't actually twist them, just lay one cable over the other and so on. I 'twisted' as tight as i was comfy with and only got 3-4 twists per 12". later on i found out that's what Paul recomends, and is on his site somewhere.Since these suckers are so thick, be sure to give the twisted pair 24 hrs to settle or re-burn in before any ciritical eval. I notice a much smoother top end.
With them untwisted tap a cable with your fingernail and listen (and feel) the gonggggggg vibration. Untwisted mine would ring over 15 seconds for a 10' run of cable. Now that they are tiwsted, the gongggg lasts just a few seconds.
My cables sit on ceramic cable elevators, and I keep a 2" square of spongy shelf paper in between the lifts and the cables. I do not rubber band the cables to the lifts...
anti-cables are the gift that keep on giving! I know this sounds nuts, but its as if my amp has an easier time running my speaks now with the a-c's twisted. the monstrous tight bass stayed the same, everything above 80hz is now smooooother.
Belles 150A Hot Rod and Muse Model 100 amp both exhibited the same reaction to the twists...
Funny thing about the Orig Post..how do you know what your system sounds like when you are out of your chair touching your cables??My speaks are on the other side of the room, of course touching the cables sounds weird, i'm right next to the speakers!!! If the soundstage collapses, I dare say a speaker cable connection is loose...
In all fairness i've had (and spread) my fair share of anti-cable voodoo. Good to know they are competent cables for very little $, and great conversation pieces :)
