Banana Plug vs. Spade Plugs.

I have just received my MIT Magnum 3 speaker cables and I have a choice of spades or banana plugs to use, I switched them a few times and I really cannot hear a difference though I know that spades are better or at least that I was told 25 years ago when I started in this hobby.
My McIntosh amp can tighten around the bananas plugs for a tight fit, same for my Dynaudio speakers. It sure is easier using the banana plugs.
Any one care to comment on which is sonically better to use, can I mix and match them?
