When I put my ear to the speakers, before I installed the tranformer, and before I had the noticeable hum problem, I could hear some hum, along with some static noise. But I pretty much blew it off because it was so low level. No there is no hum, even low-level, and the static noise is reduced. I had read where this low level noise could interfere with music clarity but I never really believed it until now.I can no longer do an A-B comparison, because the hum is so bad without the transformer. If you buy the transformer, I will be interested to see if you get the same results.
