I'm using a Behringer EP1500 and Dayton RCS-to-1/4" adapters (in a home audio setup), both from P.E. I don't know if I'm "loosing" anything but driving my Maggies, it sounds mighty fine.Being a hopeless DIY'er, I bought some 26ga silver-plated copper/Teflon insulated, solid core wire on ebay, twisted it up, soldered on some Dayton RCA plugs and installed it between my CD player and pre-amp.
I like it so much, I'm making another IC with RCA plugs on one end and 1/4" phone plugs on the other for the pre-to-amp connection. If you have any soldering skills and an IC you like, you could always commit a little surgery and replace the RCA plugs on one end with 1/4" phone plugs.
