If I want to make an unshielded IC from a shielded twisted pair cable, do I need to physically remove the shield, or is it only necessary to not attach the shield at both ends of the IC? Will the presence of the unattached shield alter the electrical properties of the IC?And no, I don't mind wrecking 6' of this cable if I do want to go to a shielded type later!
Thanks for any opinions!

- Yep, just roll it off. That eliminates any possibility of involvement. -nt- - driver 10:26:10 02/02/07 (0)
