which sounds better?

Well, I was told by Guy at Placette that for his passive preamps, it is important to have low inductance cables, at least for the one on the output end (helps the bass I think). So inductance can have effects. He uses low-inductance resistors in the passive preamps precisely because they don't introduce distortions like others do.

Don't some people complain that low-C cables can sound bright? Some people don't like Nordost for that reason. I know the C acts as a low-pass filter, but perhaps a bit of that is a good thing, if it attenuates ultrasonic hash? You just don't want it reducing your audible band.

The C in a phono cable loads the system, and can bring down the resonant frequency of a MC cartridge. I think this makes it more easily damped (just from what I've read -- I haven't done the math). So, it isn't always a bad thing. I've read about phono preamps deliberately adding large amounts of C on a MC input.

Anyway, it comes down to what sounds the best. Is there a concensus from phono cable users that a low-C or low-L sound the best with a MC cartridge?
