Not to mention the fact that if those pure wires are surrounded by "nothing" (I assume this means air rather than vacuum) their purity will almost immediately degrade due to the oxygen in the air reacting with the metal. As Mr. van den Hul once put it, claiming 99.99999% purity is like saying, I took a shower last week, so I'm still clean.
