Long and short of it- Shielding isn't the only thing that makes an IC work, in fact, many ICs are better unshielded.The materials used in generic TV coaxials are atrocious for audio, having severe colorations.
Coaxial is also not the most refined of cables for interconnect use, a twinaxial, braid, or other geometry fares better in a variety of ways. But coaxes do good bass.
