A couple of enthuiastic lads, who worked in a local dealership, experimented with this. They came to the conclusion that more expensive single run is superior to cheaper bi-wire.
My cable is soldered to the crossover & the other end is left bare wire to the amp binding posts.
It does cause a problem moving the speakers though, also hard work trying different cables, but is sonically slightly better.
