Yes, the Kimber combo has more punch in the lower frequency than the CV-8 in my system. One of the reasons can be that the Kimber’s have a larger awg. (I have +300w solid state mono amplifiers) or that the Kimber’s are not so forward in the mid/high frequency on my N804 speakers.
My impression is that the CV-8 is slightly leaner and precise in the lower frequency than the Kimber’s but a bit too forward in the mid/high frequency on my N804 (with my electronics).
Are you satisfied with mid/high frequency in your 804s (with your electronics)?
If your electronics have a “dark†sound the CV-8 is worth a try.
