It's a big one, the longer lengths make them more prone to RFI (which doesn't just go into the sub, it will go back into the driver stage, possibly further)Also, coaxes tend to be very durable, with moderate capacitance, and at affordable costs.
I also find that a good size center conductor helps, when possible, 18 awg or even 16- And please no flames from the LCR crowd, I'm not ascribing it to resistance.
Ultimately, I find them (quality coaxials) to lack refinement for full range use, but have very good bass, that combined with the other characteristics I've described lead to.... a good choice :)
