I own the Aluminata, love the midrange especially, also own an older genration PAD Dominus AC cord which I modded (a lot)... The mod Dominus has a magical sparkle on the high end which isn't "brightness" or forwardness.... more like a engerized delicacy... where the Aluminata reminds me of the perfectly made chocolate mousse, somehow both light and rich... I have not heard PADs new Contego formula, supposedly a more viscous silicone versus the old liquid... the PAD will cost you $2900 as compared with the $3500 for the Aluminata, and is the old Dominus had as much quality lurking in it, this Contego design may be on another plane altogether.... see if you can audition both before making a firm decision.
