While I don't know about your cables, burn technique could be the cause.

It may also be the burn-in technique used. Small gauge wires with little insulation can get "over-burned" with some of the burn-in devices available. Over-burned sounds like a muffled sound and lowered dynamics - the highs are attenuated.

Luckily, over-burning is a temporary condition, and after a few days of play they may swing back to normal, and require a lot less long-term play to sound their best.

Also, I find the Eichman Silver Bullets to have a very balanced sound on my cables, I like them a lot. They hav a lot of detail, but are not bright. They could sound completely different on another design.
