My take is , you would probably get better performance from the homedepot HD-14 at 1/50th the effort . Some folks even double it up and put a fancy wrap or techflex cover (to hide the orange/black color) with good spade connectors .If you still want to do the project , RAM sells cotton sleeves that fit over the wire so you wouldn't have to spend all that much time wrapping thread around wire . Not to sure nylon makes a good dielectric .
