Interconnects, speaker wire, power cords. Ask the Cable Guys.

Re: Just installed some FP-15Cu's yesterday myself

I'm not going to be able to help much here, since I've not really experimented much with speaker cables.
I bought the Goertz because it had some respectable feedback regarding it's sonics, and it had a sensible design and technical rational that appealed to be me. I also needed fairly long runs and the Goertz was reasonably priced (I prefer to run short interconnects and place the electronics to the side rather than plunk between the speakers - where bulging objects tend to interfere with sonics).
I haven't experimented with a single wire run either - my cables came as a dedicated biwire set i.e. both cables terminated to a single spade at the amplifier end.

Prior to buying the Goertz and re-arranging my system (electronics to side etc) I briefly auditioned some Harmonic tech Pro 9 bi-wire cables against my then current Straightwire Maestro bi-wires. The former were clearly better and if I'd had the $'s I might have sprung for the Pro 9's - just too expensive for me in the runs I was contemplating.

FWIW, if I replaced the Goertz cables it would be some DIY design. Frankly, while all cables sound different to some degree, I don't think spending big bucks on cables is a path to audio nirvana. I like the Goertz because they don't do anything obviously wrong and allow the essential neutrality of my speakers to shine through without any spritzing up or spotlighting effects. I can't comment on the bottom octave since my speakers start rolling off in the mid forties. Are they the ultimate in transparency? Probably not. I bet the Pro 9's (and others) would be better in this respect, but I'm not losing any sleep over it. I'm not going to be dropping multi $K's on speaker cables anytime soon!
In any case, the pc/receptacle changes I've made recently eclipse the differences in speaker cables that I've experimented with - and cost 'peanuts' by comparison. As always, YMMV.
