To build a balanced interconnect, you can terminate the PA-02 with XLR's without need of an external ground wire (a balanced cable does not need a ground wire). Connect the PA-02's shield to pin 1 (source end only), the red wire to pin 2, and the white wire to pin 3.see XLR wiring diagram link:
