When the Power Wing used Hubbell outlets, it was already superb. But the Oyaide outlets now show that the Wing's potential was hindered by the Hubbells. It is wonderful that customers can choose any combination of outlets in the Wing. For me and my colleagues here in the Bay Area, the XXX outlet usually provides the best performance. But not always. That is why it helps to have the DX and GX ready to go.
The Power Wings help reduce fuzz, grain, and hardness. So while this provides some relief when using crappy mid-fi, the same character allows true high-performance gear to perform its best.
But I need to say this again. The Power Wing does NOT generate any heat. Nor does it make any noises. This freedom from heat and noise makes the Power Wing infinitely superior to the myriad and ubiquitous PLCs which do run hot, buzz, and hum.
