If you can avoid using connectors then by all means do!
Connectors add one more layer of electrical interface in the signal path. You can justify their use if the bare wires won't make good contact with the mating equipment or if you are worried about wire oxidation, mechnical sturdiness and similar practical aspects.
An exception would be a multi-wire cable or even a stranded wires. It is hard to guaranty a good mechanical and electrical contact with multiple wires, so a suitable connector might be the right choice and preferable over the bare wires.
The twisted RG-59 has solid core wires, but it is a relatively stiff cable and might tear off the wires. If you go without the connectors then try to situate the cable itself in a way that it does not exert any force on the termination. You might also want to use a contact sealer of some sort (ask at your electric supply store).
