Sorry this isn't as high-end as a lot of posts here, but I'm cleaning up the stereo area (gotta mind the WAF) by running some interconnects through the wall. For this purpose, I obtained some 8-pair snake cable. The in-wall run will < 6 ft., plus short IC cables connecting the wall plates to the components.What's the best way to wire RCA plugs onto shielded twisted pair cables? I can think of three possibilities:
1) Both conductors to tips, shield drain wire to sleeves;
2) One conductor to tips, 2nd conductor unterminated, shield drain wire to sleeves;
3) One conductor to tips, 2nd conductor connecting both sleeves, shield bonded to sleeve at one end only.
What's the "common wisdom"? Pros and cons of the various options?
